Electronic Polarization in Non-Bloch Band Theory

چکیده
Hermitian topological materials are characterized by the nontrivial relation between numbers and edge modes, i.e. bulk-boundary correspondence. In non-Hermitian systems, conventional correspondence breaks down. Instead, in Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, non-Bloch correspondence, which is winding number skin effect, proposed S. Yao Z. Wang. We introduce polarization as a quantity to detect effect. Moreover, we also discuss two-dimensional systems using with spiral boundary conditions.

Non-commutative Bloch Theory
For differential operators which are invariant under the action of an abelian group Bloch theory is the preferred tool to analyze spectral properties. By shedding some new non-commutative light on this we motivate the introduction of a non-commutative Bloch theory for elliptic operators on Hilbert C-modules. It relates properties of C-algebras to spectral properties of module operators such as ...
متن کاملNon-Bloch plasmonic stop-band in real-metal gratings.
Recent studies of plasmon surface wave (PSW) propagation in short-period perfectly conducting gratings have shown formation of stop-band that are not linked to the interaction between two (counter) propagating surface waves. We study the properties of this stop-band in real metals. While for both perfectly conducting and real metals the propagation constant of PSW grows with the groove height, ...
متن کاملmicrostrip flat lens with polarization diversity in x band
lenses are often used to converge electromagnetic wave namely they convert incident phase front of feed antenna to a flat phase front. together, the lens and the feed create an electrically large aperture antenna. flat lenses provide the cost and weight benefits of the reflect-arrays, while maintaining the advantages of a lens antenna. these lenses use an array of unit-cells which are excited b...
متن کاملBloch Theory and Quantization Classes
Quantizing the motion of particles on a Riemannian manifold in the presence of a magnetic field poses the problems of existence and uniqueness of quantizations. Both of them are settled since the early days of geometric quantization but there is still some structural insight to gain from spectral theory. Following the work of Asch, Over & Seiler (1994) for the 2–torus we describe the relation b...
متن کاملStrong renormalization of the electronic band gap due to lattice polarization in the GW formalism.
The self-consistent GW band gaps are known to be significantly overestimated. We show that this overestimation is, to a large extent, due to the neglect of the contribution of the lattice polarization to the screening of the electron-electron interaction. To solve this problem, we derive within the GW formalism a generalized plasmon-pole model that accounts for lattice polarization. The resulti...
